What is counselling?
Keren Ludski is a fully qualified and registered counsellor.
Keren aims to create an environment where the client feels
safe, comfortable and supported. Counselling offers people
the opportunity to increase their self awareness and therefore
begin the journey of bringing positive change in to their
lives.
Counselling is a partnership between the counsellor and
the client. Keren will use listening skills and varying
therapeutic techniques to explore issues and help the
client to reach solutions. At Peace of Mind, Keren works
with the whole person. She recognizes that people have
the potential to heal themselves if given enough support
and guidance. Keren firmly believes in the importance
of the client feeling comfortable with the counsellor.
It is for that reason that you need only commit to the
first counselling session.
Why do I need counselling?
People often seek counselling because they are feeling
unhappy or dissatisfied with one or several aspects of
their life. You may be feeling anger, frustration, apathy
or hurt about some issues that are taking place in your
life. You are probably feeling that it has become too
difficult to work through it on your own. You need some
clarity, someone to listen to you who is neutral and removed
from the issues.
How long do I need to commit to counselling?
Keren will not pressure you in to long term counselling.
Keren can offer brief, medium or long term support depending
on what your issues are. In your first session Keren will
discuss with you the reasons for seeking counselling and
the outcomes you are aiming for. She will then try and
present you with the number of sessions you will need
and the sort of treatment needed.
At Peace of Mind we understand how difficult it may be
to accept that you need help. It takes courage to make
the first appointment. Keren's aim is to make you feel
as comfortable and safe as possible. As a client you will
have complimentary use of the relaxation lounge. A chance
to sit, relax and enjoy a glass of herbal tea.
She works with individuals, couples, children and groups.
Her areas of interest are stress management, grief and
loss, relationship issues, low self esteem, anxiety disorders,
eating disorders and body image, adolescent issues, and
working with children. .
